Matías Duville (b.1974, Argentina)

Matias Duville was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1974. He taught visual arts at the Escuela Superior en Artes Visuales Martin Malharro, in Mar del Plata from 1995-1998, studied with Jorge Macchi frm 2001-2002 and completed a studio arts program at CC ROJA UBA/KUITCA from 2003-2005.

His work has been exhibited since 1999 primarily in South America. He participated in a solo show in 2007 titled “Cover” at the MUSAC at Laboratorio 987 in Spain and  a collective show titled “Signos de existencias” at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Santiago de Chile.

In 2007, Duville was awarded the Civitella Ranieri Fellowship in Perugia, Italy. In 2010 he was awarded a Ibere Camargo residency in Porto Alegre, Brazil and n 2011 he was granted two more scholarships, one from the Skowhegan Residency (Maine, USA), and another from the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation.
