Carlos Huffman, son of book editor Adriana Hidalgo and the grandson of diplomat Héctor Hidalgo Solá − who disappeared during the years of military dictatorship, was born in 1980. A graduate of the California Institute of the Arts, his varied cultural background can be seen as an explanation of a certain disparity between his techniques and other local modes of production with less formal training behind them. “His images are imbued with solid conceptual underpinnings but also with a sense of foreignness, of inhabiting a no-man's-land at some distance from the Argentine scene.
